Sealcoating

ImageThe sealcoating process is a fairly simple one. Using a specialized tank with a sprayer, the sealcoat is applied in a smooth, even manner. Our sealcoat is fully guaranteed and mixed to the manufacturers specifications. This mixture is never watered down.

Upon special request, Serwatka Sealcoating will apply the sealcoat directly to the driveway by hand using sealcoating brushes to spread the sealer.

Clean-up

Before all sealcoating, we do a brief clean-up of the area. Depending on the overall condition of the asphalt and how much dirt is present, either a blower or a pressure washer will be used. We also edge up the grass around the driveway or parking lot so the edges of the asphalt can be completely sealed. Any internal weeds or stray grass will also be removed from the pavement.

Crack Filling

ImageCrack filling is a very important process. By filling in cracks in the driveways or lots, it prevents water from traveling under the asphalt and washing out the base material. This will cause cracks to grow and pavement to separate, undermining the overall structure of the area. In the winter when cracks become filled with water and expand when the water freezes, separating the cracks even more. It is best to fill in these cracks before they worsen, deteriorating the strength of the asphalt.

In the crack filling process, cracks are first cleaned of debris and dirt. Then a tar kettle is used to melt down blocks of tar. The kettle utilizes this tar as it pours and squeegees it into the craks in the asphalt. Sealcoating is applied after the crack filling process.

Line Striping

After sealcoating is applied, areas to be striped are marked out in accordance to the measurements taken during the estimate. With new lots, parking spaces are laid out to the states specifications. We also do line striping on basketball and tennis courts to the guidelines of the game. Numerous paint colors are available as well as glass bead reflective paints.
